Yes, it should. All major carriers are known to work reasonably well in Jamaica; however, many require that you pay additional fees for an international plan. Check with your carrier before you leave for options. Many have different options for cellular phone, internet and data plans, and text messaging.
Some people have turned off their cellular service, choosing to only access services an apps through the wi-fi at the resort such as texting apps like WhatsApp. Others have purchased a prepaid SIM card at the airport or in advance for use only in Jamaica.
